The Mammoth Hunters

"The Mammoth Hunters" is the third novel in Jean M. Auel's "Earth's Children" series, which is set in prehistoric times during the Upper Paleolithic period. The story follows Ayla, a young woman who was raised by the Clan of the Cave Bear and later found by Jondalar, a man of the Zelandonii tribe.

In this book, Ayla and Jondalar leave the Valley of Horses and encounter the Mamutoi, a tribe of mammoth hunters. Ayla's skills as a healer and her ability to communicate with animals earn her a place within the tribe.
